IPL 2026 Latest: RR Beat RCB, LSG Beat KKR, Today CSK vs DC Match Preview

The Indian Premier League's 2026 season has reached Match 17 territory, and a few things are already becoming clear. Rajasthan Royals are playing like champions. KKR cannot win a close game to save their season. And 17-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is doing things with a bat that cannot be explained by conventional cricket logic.

Here is everything you need to know from yesterday, today, and what is coming up.

Yesterday: RR vs RCB — Royals Win Again

Match 16 was played at the ACA Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on April 10. Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets. It was RR's fourth straight win, and it was not particularly close.

RCB — the defending champions, led by Rajat Patidar — posted 201/8. Skipper Patidar played a composed 63 off 40 balls. Virat Kohli added a brisk 32. For RR, Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi claimed two wickets each.

Then Suryavanshi walked in to bat for Rajasthan. What followed was absurd. He hit 78 runs off just 26 balls — seven sixes — to effectively end the game before the halfway point of the powerplay chase. Josh Hazlewood was the principal victim. At one point, Suryavanshi hit six boundaries off a single over: 6, 4, 6, 4, 6, 4. Dhruv Jurel then anchored the finish with an unbeaten 81 off 43 balls. Rajasthan chased 202 in the 18th over, winning by six wickets.

Bishnoi made history of his own: he dismissed Virat Kohli with a googly, ending a 1,089-day wait for a spinner to dismiss Kohli with that particular delivery in IPL cricket.

As of April 10, Rajasthan Royals sit first in the IPL 2026 standings with 8 points from 4 games, unbeaten, with a healthy run-rate advantage.

The Match Before: KKR vs LSG — Another Loss for Kolkata

Match 15 at Eden Gardens on April 9 was one of the most dramatic finishes of the season. Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Lucknow Super Giants by three wickets on the very last ball.

KKR batted first and posted 181/4. Ajinkya Rahane made 41 off 24, Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 45, and a late 70-run unbeaten stand between Cameron Green and Rovman Powell pushed the total to competitive territory.

LSG's chase looked dead at 139/7 with 30 runs needed off the last two overs. That is when Mukul Choudhary — a rookie no one had heard of six weeks ago — went berserk. He smashed seven sixes in a 27-ball, 54-run knock. In the final over, with 13 needed, he hit a six to make it 1 off the last ball. He missed the delivery — but the wicketkeeper fumbled and the ball went for a bye, completing the win.

Choudhary's innings made him only the second player in IPL history to equal Kieron Pollard's record for sixes in a single-match comeback situation. Ayush Badoni also made 54 off 34 and became the third batter to score 1,000 career runs for LSG.

Rahane, clearly frustrated, said: "Tough one to take. Mukul's knock was defining." KKR now have three losses in three games. Their Net Run Rate is deeply negative. A team built to win IPL titles is yet to register a single win.

Points Table as of April 10

Rajasthan Royals lead with 8 points from 4 games, unbeaten. RCB, despite the loss to RR, remain in the top four. LSG climbed to fifth place after their Eden Gardens heist. KKR sit near the bottom with 0 wins from 3 games.

Suryavanshi has overtaken Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Orange Cap race. His strike rate in the powerplay — 227.35 — is the best by any batter in IPL cricket since 2025.

Today: CSK vs DC

Tonight's match (April 11) pits Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals. For CSK, this is a must-improve situation — they have been inconsistent and need to find their batting rhythm. For Delhi, they have the firepower to win but have been poor at closing out games.

This match is at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Venue advantage goes to CSK, who are typically dangerous at home under the lights.

Tomorrow: LSG vs DC

April 12 brings Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

After the Eden Gardens heist, LSG will be high on confidence. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram set up the chase well at the top before the middle order wobbled — that opening partnership is a reliable platform. Rishabh Pant is batting at number three and in form.
