The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) declared the AP Intermediate Results 2026 for both first and second year students at 10:31 AM today, marking one of the most significant academic announcements of the year for the state.
Marks memos are now available online on official websites bie.ap.gov.in, resultsbie.ap.gov.in, and bieap.apcfss.in. Students can also access their results through DigiLocker and via WhatsApp at the number 9552300009 under the Mana Mitra service.
The Numbers
This year, the pass percentage for the 1st year is 77% while that of 2nd year is 81%, making it the highest percentage in 12 years. Over 10.57 lakh candidates had registered, including around 5,31,275 first-year students and approximately 5,26,264 second-year students.
To put 77% in context: this is not merely a statistical improvement on paper. Over the past 12 years, AP Intermediate 1st Year results have cycled between 60% and 72% in most years, with pandemic-era results being exceptional. A genuine 77% pass rate in the current academic environment reflects both improved teacher training, board-level evaluation reforms, and likely some stabilisation in students' post-pandemic learning recovery.
In Government Junior Colleges, the 1st year students have recorded a pass percentage of 54% — the highest in the last 12 years specifically for the government sector. This is the detail that deserves wider attention. Government junior college students come from lower-income families with less access to private tuition and coaching. Their improved performance suggests that the state's investment in government institutions is beginning to show results.
BIEAP conducted the AP Inter 1st and 2nd year exams from February 23 to March 24, 2026.
How to Check Results
The process is straightforward but students should follow these steps carefully to avoid errors:
Step 1: Visit bie.ap.gov.in or the alternate mirror site resultsbie.ap.gov.in
Step 2: Click on "First and Second Year IPE February/March 2026 Result Download" on the homepage
Step 3: Enter your Hall Ticket Number and Date of Birth accurately
Step 4: Download and save the marks memo as a PDF
Alternate Access Methods: Students can also check via DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) by selecting BIEAP as the issuing authority and entering their hall ticket number. For WhatsApp access, message "Hi" to 9552300009 and follow the automated menu to Education Services.
The AP Inter marks memo will be available on multiple platforms — website, WhatsApp (9552300009), DigiLocker, and the Mana Mitra chatbot using the hall ticket number.
What the Marks Memo Contains
The AP Inter marks memo will display: student name, roll number, hall ticket number, subject-wise marks, total marks, grade, and qualifying status. Students are advised to verify all details immediately after downloading. Any discrepancy should be reported to the respective college or BIEAP immediately.
Passing Criteria
The minimum passing marks are 35 out of 100 in each subject individually. Passing overall aggregate is not sufficient — a student failing even one subject must appear for a supplementary examination for that specific subject.
Supplementary examinations are typically conducted in May-June. Students who need to reappear should apply within the deadline — which BIEAP will announce separately — and use the intervening weeks for focused preparation rather than general anxiety.
Re-evaluation and Revaluation
Students who believe their marks do not reflect their actual performance can apply for re-evaluation or revaluation. These processes will be announced separately by BIEAP. The digital marks memo released online is considered provisional but valid for admission purposes until original certificates are issued.
What Happens Next
For 2nd Year students (Class 12), these results are the final academic credential for undergraduate admissions. Universities will use these marks for eligibility and merit-based admissions.
For 1st Year students (Class 11), the results determine progression to the second year. Good performance also builds the foundation for competitive entrance examinations: AP EAMCET 2026 eligibility is based exclusively on 2nd Year Inter marks — students need a minimum of 45% in relevant subjects (MPC for engineering, BiPC for medical) in Intermediate 2nd Year to qualify. The 1st Year result does not directly affect EAMCET eligibility, but it sets the academic trajectory.
Students who have scored above 80% are advised to check their eligibility for state and central government scholarships — several schemes have merit-based components tied to intermediate performance.
